UFORCHANGE: RECIPIENT OF GUCCI NORTH AMERICA CHANGEMAKERS IMPACT FUND 2022

On August 12, 2022, Gucci announced the recipients of the Gucci North America Changemakers Impact Fund. More than 200 organizations had applied to the program – of which 12 non-profits were awarded funding. 

For the 3rd year in a row, UforChange has been awarded the Gucci Changemakers Impact Fund grant for 2022, making it one of the only charities in Canada to be a recipient. 

The program was launched in 2019 to award impact fund grants to support community-based organizations that were focused on inclusion, diversity and within the fashion industry. Gucci has awarded over 40 non-profit organizations with about USD $2 million in grants to help them uplift their communities at the foundation level. This funding is a very crucial part of growth and support to the organizations that are changemakers for their community.

• BlackStar Film Festival, Philadelphia, PA
• Seventh Generation Fund for Indigenous Peoples, San Francisco, CA
• UforChange, Toronto, ON, Canada
• HBCU 20X20, Washington D.C.

Each of the awarded non-profits will receive a one-year funding cycle grant for USD $50,000 that will allow the winning organizations to create new programs or scale their existing initiatives.

UforChange is proud to be the recipient of this wholesome grant. Winning this funding helps us in amplifying the impact on the youth of Toronto and giving their talents wings through the power of arts, fashion and culture. 

Since 2009, UforChange has championed the cause of mentoring young people in the pursuit of their artistic passions through a spectrum of arts programs and workshops. We’ve built our programs to provide youth not only with foundational skills, but also access to professional mentors, industry volunteering and employment opportunities, a sense of community, education support, and more. Initially serving young people from St. James Town, UforChange has grown to serve youth from all corners of the Greater Toronto Area.
