08 Feb THE TOP NOTCH CHALLENGE
5 UforChange alumni youth
In celebration of the UforChange ANNKM Fashion Program – UforChange in collaboration with Ann Kaplan Mulholland will be hosting the Top Notch Challenge. The skillful and creative UforChange alumni youth will be presenting their spectacular works of craftsmanship in an environmentally sustainable fashion.
With a dash of sustainability, a handful of hard work, a pinch of magic and the inspirational guidance of fashion icons like Ann Kaplan Mulholland – the contestants will have a platform to compete in a one-of-its-kind challenge to display their passion for fashion. They are young, diverse, and truly epitomize the future of fashion. UforChange is incredibly proud of these designers and we are thrilled to see what they create.
The Top Notch Challenge is an opportunity for participating Alumni to share their work with our 4 judges, including Ann Kaplan Mulholland, and secure invaluable mentorship opportunities to further their creative growth and professional careers.
Each contestant has been given an allowance to design and create one (or more) garment(s). Their creation must take into consideration the impact of each step of the process from sourcing materials to the sizing. Our goal with the Top Notch Challenge is to make designers question their intentions and truly work towards an inclusive and sustainable future.
The judges of the Top Notch Challenge are:
- Isabella Baboury, National Fashion Executive
- Jessica Panetta, Head Director of Conceptual Event, Society/Fashion and Beauty Expert
- Michael Zoffranieri, Designer at ZOFF
- Ann Kaplan, CEO and President of iFinance Canada Inc
They are trailblazers in the fashion industry and have volunteered their time to judge each contestant’s handmade garments. The challenge will have four winners, each receiving a life-changing mentorship from one of the judges. Devo Brown is the Host/Personality for the Top Notch Challenge.
