20 Jan Common Thread
The Common Thread is a live-streamed fashion show featuring ethically-made and eco-friendly designs from local designers. The event’s purpose is to bring people together to celebrate the positive outcome of fair trade fashion. ‘The Common Thread’ signifies the underlying ecological issue behind the purpose of this project. This global issue connects us through the ‘common thread’, the literal thread on our backs. It gives voices to the millions of garment workers who experience injustice on a day to day basis through poor working conditions and indecent living wages. The event is on Wednesday January 20, 2016 at the Daniel’s Spectrum at 585 Dundas Street East. For ticket information, click here.
This event is organized by UforChange’s alumni Helen Nguyen. Monah Waters who is a fashion alumni will be contributing some pieces to the show.
