20 Jun Celebrating Cycle 14 at Vivacity
Cycle 14 has ended and to celebrate our students finishing their programs we celebrated in true artists fashion, a huge party! Vivacity 14 at Tartu College gave our students a chance to show off everything they’ve learned, celebrated completing their programs and network with professionals in their fields.
The night started off with drinks and finger foods. While our DJs took turns spinning, everyone mingled and looked at our photography students’ photos and discussed their experiences. After cocktails, our emcee Glamma came out and gave a beautiful land acknowledgement before introducing our Executive Director Lea Greenwood. Lea, who has been with us since March, discussed how much she’s enjoyed working with our students before introducing our keynote speaker Trevor Godinho.
Trevor is a world famous photographer who, like many of our students, didn’t have a lot of the opportunities other youth had. But, he worked hard and was able to turn his passion into a successful career. His speech was passionate, and a story many students could relate to.
Before we closed the formalities, our fashion students had their own fashion show where they, or their models, showed off their one-of-a-kind creations. Finally, our students received their certificates before dancing the night away!
