About:

Business in the Arts 101 is a full-day workshop that will help you get your art recognized. This workshop will provide you with the necessary tools to help you with your professional development from how to price your art to crafting your artist statements. You will leave this workshop feeling confident that you can create a professional portfolio!

Requirements:

  • Open to youth ages 16-29
  • Commitment to the arts!

About Rania El Muggamar:

Rania El Mugammar is a Toronto based Sudanese multi disciplinary artist, arts educator and organizer, published poet and performer. Her work focuses on traditions of oral storytelling, art as documentation/resistance and themes of migration, belonging, race, womxnhood and beyond.

She is the founder and director of SpeakSudan an organization working with afrodiasporic youth. Rania has shared her work on over a hundred stages and facilitated over 150 workshops, discussions, events, keynotes and programs. She is passionate about program development, storytelling and community building. She has worked with organizations such as the Watah School, Outburst, Barbara Schilfer Clinic, Storytelling Toronto and more.

She is passionate about race/gender and sexuality on a local and global level and freedom from violence against womxn.
